The BSc (Hons) in General Nursing prepares students to meet the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to work as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
Students studying general nursing will be involved in caring for different people from all backgrounds aged from 16 years upwards who are experiencing ill-health or have longterm conditions that challenge their health and well-being. Students will learn the theory and evidence based principles of nursing to help people prevent illness, overcome illness, manage their own health and well-being.
Students will learn the practice of nursing by working with registered nurses in clinical areas who act as mentors assisting students to apply the knowledge and skills they learn in college to real life situations.
